Srushti started to get ready for her UPSC exam in her third year as a student in engineering. During her graduation, she questioned whether she could be happy with her engineering job. In the following years, she realized that her passion was in civil service and decided to pursue it. The parents of her encouraged her to concentrate on civils, and find a job serving the people. She was motivated to become an IAS officer and was focused on that goal. The work required to become an IAS officer takes greater. When she was studying engineering courses, she also used to practice for the various areas of the UPSC. Everyday she carved out time for exam preparation. Within a little over an entire month the time, she was preparing for her engineering exam and completely avoided all social media. She believes that focusing only on the work at hand is essential to pass the exam. She worked hard to make sure she passed the exam on the first try. Every day, she reads papers to stay informed of the latest news. In addition, she had plenty of online support by gathering study materials and viewing Rajya Sabha TV.
